Amidst the monochrome, the stark, the grey,
Where winter claims the vibrant light of day,
A single petal breaks the muted ground,
The quietest beauty in the frost is found.
No summer heat has hurried its design,
Beneath the snow, it drew its fragile line.
A velvet cup of cream, a silent white,
Defiant, captured in the fading light.
It asks no sun, it wants no gentle rain,
It only smiles upon the frozen plain.
A resilient heart, a delicate surprise,
The lonely winter rose, beneath cold skies.
